Facialist (Esthetician) License in Oklahoma

Oklahoma licenses estheticians under the title "Facialist" through the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering. The COS data provides a scope-of-practice description covering skin care services, skin analysis, massage, makeup application, facials, limited hair removal (wax, depilatory, electronic tweezers), and lash/brow tinting and arching. Oklahoma requires 600 hours of approved esthetics training and passing a state examination. No continuing education is required for license renewal. Oklahoma offers reduced licensing fees for military members and spouses. Facialists work primarily in salons, cosmetic studios, department store cosmetic counters, and for product companies.
